Erasmus+ International Week at Benedek

Benedek Elek Faculty of Pedagogy hosted 41 guests from 9 foreign countries in the frame of Erasmus+ International Week between 24 and 28 April. Europe was represented by colleagues from Greece, Norway, Poland, Romania, Slovenia, Spain and Ukraine, while Asian and American participants arrived from Thailand and the USA. The representatives were welcomed by Prof. Dr. Róbert Németh, Vice Rector of Scientific and International Matters of The University of Sopron, Dr. habil László Varga, Dean and Dr. Gábor Patyi, Vice Dean of Scientific and International Matters of Benedek Elek Faculty of Pedagogy.

The Faculty aimed to convene a meeting of its partner institutions from different parts of the world to get familiarised with early childhood pedagogy and to foster further collaboration among the parties. During the Erasmus+ International Week foreign guests had the opportunity to gain insight into the theory and practice of early childhood education by listening to presentations on teacher training, environmental protection, bilingual education, singing and music education, arts education and by visiting the affiliated institutions of the faculty. Scientific programme was guaranteed by The 10th Jubilee Conference of Training & Practice Pedagogical Journal where more than 200 guests took part including the colleagues from abroad. Cultural programme covered a Hungarian evening and a visit around the neighbourhood. The major benefits of the event will be experienced later, i.e. how academic cooperation will be extended and what kinds of staff and student exchanges will be developed in the future.
